Hello, my name is Katie (Katherine) Isbell, and welcome to my website/portfolio! This website is a bit of a look into my past life as a journalist. Today, I am a law school student based in Boston, Massachusetts, though I am still involved in journalism through volunteer work.

I am a student at the Northeastern University School of Law (NUSL). Prior to law school, I graduated from Northeastern University’s College of Arts, Media and Design in May 2020 with a BA in journalism and a minor in psychology. During my time at Northeastern as an undergraduate, I completed two co-ops, each lasting six months. My first co-op was as a news reporter at the Patriot Ledger newspaper in Quincy, MA in 2018, and my second was in the communications and media relations office at  the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) in Boston, MA in 2019.

Since 2017, I have been actively involved with the Head of the Charles Regatta, where I volunteer as a freelance reporter each October to cover races throughout regatta weekend and mentor undergraduate student reporters. In the past, I have also done freelance reporting work for Row2k, DigBoston, and the New England Newspaper and Press Association.

During the summer of 2020, I earned a certificate in paralegal studies from Boston University. I also have a professional certificate in general music studies from Berklee Online, the Berklee School of Music’s online program, that I earned in 2014.

I’m passionate about photography, dogs, music, and ice hockey.
